Color and Value in Pastels

May 3-7
All Levels $565

Color and value will be de-mystified in this informative 5-day workshop with Maggie Price. Learn how to create a strong, simple value structure and how that structure will solidify your compositions. With Maggie as your guide, learn to "see" value in the landscape and how to "mass the values" to simplify and strengthen your compositions. As value is more important than the exact color, you will learn to make color choices based on the correct value with amazing results. Learn how to determine and use color temperature successfully, based on the value of that color and how to use them to define the mood of your painting. Maggie will demonstrate daily how she applies the principles of color and value to landscape painting and there will be ample student painting time with individual direction and guidance as the priority.
