PEGGY ZEHRING Week #1 Week #2 10- Day Experimental Drawing/Painting or Dimensional July 21-22-23-24-25 and July 28-29-30-31, August 1 The focus of these intensive workshops is to help you develop a new way of producing and seeing art and teach you the language of abstraction: your inner language of emotion. Through the experimental use of tools, charcoal, paint and mixed media you will explore mark making, media possibilities, making sense of nonsense, trusting your own vision and the psychology of line, form, and color. If you have taken this class previously, you may choose to play with tools and products that build a bas-relief surface. Working with these materials will give you new dimensional possibilities for your artwork. Peggy is an exceptionally gifted and empathetic instructor, who is able to ‘zero in’ on each individual students needs (and fears) about art making. With Peggy, the work can be hard, but the rewards great. Peggy Zehring studied with Elaine de Kooning and with Chicago’s abstract painters and disciples of Wassily Kandinsky. She has a Fine Arts degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago. Her award-winning work is included in many private and corporate collections and several publications. For 27 years she has lectured extensively and taught in a variety of college and workshop settings. She recently had a large show in Taipei, Taiwan.
